This Privacy Policy explains what information Bachelors Mingle (bachelorsmingle.com) collects, how we use it and the choices you have. Bachelors Mingle is operated by Support Bay, LLC, Los Angeles, California (“we”, “us”). Please read it together with our Terms.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: username, email address, password, gender, date of birth, location and who you are looking to meet.
- Profile content: the text, photos and answers you choose to add. This may reveal sensitive details such as your ethnicity, religion, relationship status or sexual orientation. Adding it is your choice, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing.
- Messages and activity: messages you send to members, profiles you view, favorites, blocks and reports.
- Technical information: IP address, approximate location based on your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and dates and times of use.
- Messages to us: what you send through our contact form, including your name and email address.
The Service is free, so we do not ask for or collect credit card details.
2. How we use information
- to create and run your account, and to show your profile and suggest members;
- to verify your email address and send messages about your account and activity;
- to keep the Service safe, including preventing spam, fake accounts, fraud and abuse;
- to respond when you contact us;
- to understand how the Service is used and improve it; and
- to meet legal obligations.
3. What other people can see
Your profile, including your username, photos, age and general location, can be seen by other members and may be visible to visitors who are not signed in. Messages go to the members you send them to, and they can share what you send. Please do not put your full name, address, phone number or financial details in your profile.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with companies that help us run the Service, such as website hosting, email delivery, site security, statistics and translation providers;
- with Google or Facebook if you choose to sign in with them, and with Google where we use reCAPTCHA to stop spam;
- where the law requires it, or where needed to protect members, the public or our rights; and
- with a new owner if the Service is ever sold or transferred, in which case this Policy would continue to apply until you are told otherwise.
Some pages load features from these providers, which may receive your IP address and browser information when the page loads.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and your cookie choice, protect the site and measure use. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, although signing in and some features will not work without them.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal data, except for copies in routine backups for a limited time and records we need for security, to prevent repeat abuse or to meet legal obligations.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and change most of your information by signing in and editing your profile. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it or delete it, through our Contact Us page. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have further legal rights, such as limiting certain uses of sensitive information, objecting to certain processing or complaining to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
8. International use
We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and used in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. The laws there may differ from those where you live.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no website is completely secure. Please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.
10. Adults only
The Service is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has an account, please tell us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and for significant changes we will give notice on the site or by email.
12. Contact us
Questions or requests about your privacy? Please reach us through our Contact Us page.
Location check to prevent fraud
To protect members from scams and fake profiles, when you sign up or change your location we record the IP address you are connecting from and compare its approximate country and state with the location on your profile. We use a geolocation database stored on our own servers, so your IP address is not shared with a third party for this check (IP Geolocation by DB-IP). If the locations don’t match, your profile may be reviewed by our team before it appears in search. Only our administrators can see this information, and it is deleted when you delete your account.
